With a hat tip to Mount Rushmore, Mount Rushka celebrates what they refer to as “The Mount Rushmore of Rock“. Mount Rushka’s sound has chiselled out the most iconic faces from the rock of the mountains of their sweet little mountain town, Fernie B.C – which was the birthplace of Alex Lifeson, the guitarist of the iconic Canadian rock band, Rush. And Rushka? Well, right across from where the band jams and records is a “well-known” local with the surname Rushka.
Mount Rushka’s standout members include, twin brother and sister, Will Ripley and Alanna Laurin. The latter twin is married to their powerhouse lead singer, Adam Laurin. Plus, drummer Aaron Wrench graduated music college from the Berklee College of Music’s Canadian affiliate school alongside guitarist Will Ripley (class of 2006). This is a tight knit group, with a rock solid background.
The group’s members have touring credits with The Tea Party, One Bad Son, Rev Theory, Papa Roach and Shinedown. Mount Rushka is selling out local 200+ capacity shows, and to date has released 3 singles. Mount Rushka has a full-length 14-song album currently underway with upcoming BC/AB tours.
